FACULTY

MUSIC DIRECTOR

Montgomery Schmidt has experience as a music student from a young age beginning with classical piano.  In high-school, Monty discovered the guitar through the music of classic rock.  A Jazz Guitar major in college, his love of jazz music was inspired by the influences and opportunities of the life as a music student and a young professional musician.  Monty currently holds a Bachelor of Art's degree in Improvised Music Studies on guitar from San Jose State University and an Associate of art's degree in Jazz Studies on piano from American River College.

Monty’s career as a professional musician spans nearly 20 years.  He began to play a few paid performances as the singer of his punk-rock band in high-school and has found success as a performer with various groups around Northern California as a guitarist and pianist.  Monty is the producer, musical director and pianist of his jump and swing band, Atomic Jump Revival.

Founded in August of 2006, Earthtone School of Music is the product of Monty's dream and vision: to provide a solid musical education experience to the local community.  Combining his educational experience and performing with his teaching experience as a professional musician, Monty’s goal is to share his passion and dedication to music.
